Immunotherapy
Apheresis, from Ancient Greek,
aphairesis, means ‘a taking away’. They believed that the Gods’ blood retained the qualities of the immortal’s food and drink, ambrosia or nectar. In a way they were right, the blood contains the cancer-fighting immune stem cells, and apheresis is the process that separates them from blood which may then be given to the patient to ablate the cancer.
"Almost everything, all external expectations, all pride, all fear of embarrassment or failure;
these things just fall away in the face of death, leaving only what is truly important."
