Laser Ablation Procedure of Liver Tumors

Thermal ablative laser therapy entails the destruction of tissue via hyperthermia. Hyperthermia is obtained by inserting optical fibers into the tissues under ultrasound guidance. The optical fibers are connected to the lasers and then turned on whilst inside the tumor generating overheating.

The aim of thermoablation therapies is to destroy the cancer inside the organ without removing it, preserving the normal anatomy and functioning, with the cancer having been obliterated from the body, and resulting in a return to health.

"Though wise men at their end know dark is right,

Because their words had forked no lightning they

Do not go gentle into that good night.

Rage, rage against the dying of the light"
